Phenotypic category: svb+ ovo-.
Permeable eggs, which collapse and have a fragile chorion.
Most of the egg chambers of homozygous females develop into eggs that are laid (more than 30% of the wild-type number of eggs are laid per day). The eggs are usually permeable to neutral red and have fused appendages. The soma is wild-type. Transheterozygotes with either ovoD2 or ovoD3 have germ cells resembling early spermatocytes.
Gene activity is reduced. Viable. Male germ line is fertile, female germ line has permeable eggs.
Some eggs are laid and collapse due to fragile chorion.
Homozygous females lay eggs that fail to hatch.
ovoe8K/ovoM2 has female sterile phenotype, suppressible | partially by SxlM1
SxlM1, ovoM2/ovoe7E has female fertile phenotype
SxlM1, ovoM2/ovoe7E has female semi-sterile phenotype
