    The mesoderm is able to spread out over the ectoderm after mesoderm invagination in Egfrtop-18A mutant embryos.

    The number of neuronal cells is reduced in homozygous clones in the eye disc and the number does not increase posterior to the furrow as occurs during normal development. There appears to be a delay in differentiation within the clones. An abnormal pattern of R8 precursor cells, often twinned, is specified, and is not followed by recruitment of any other neuronal cell types, and posterior to the furrow R8 cells disappear.

    Suppresses the "Ellipse" phenotype.

    Behaves phenotypically as a severe point mutation.

    Egfrtop-18A/+ enhances the ommatidial over-rotation phenotype which is caused by expression of nmoScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev.

    The symmetrical ommatidium phenotype seen in fz19/fz21 flies is suppressed by Egfrtop-18A/+.

    The mesoderm is able to spread out over the ectoderm after mesoderm invagination in Egfrtop-18A sogY506 brkM68 triple mutant embryos.

    The extra crossvein wing phenotype of Cct1Ala.Scer\UAS mutants is enhanced when Cct1Ala.Scer\UAS is overexpressed (driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1) in Egfrtop-18A/+ flies. The notching seen in wings of N55e11/+ flies is not enhanced in Egfrtop-18A/+ mutants.
