Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Larval growth delayed, in L3. 45% survive until 5 days after hatching. 4% survive until 10 days after hatching. DNA replication continues. Mutant phenotype is cell autonomous. Mutant clones in the wing disc are detectable but never reach twin spot size. Flies which have had clones induced in them do not show a rough eye phenotype.

Comments

Excision of the P-element is accompanied by reversion of the mutant phenotype.

Dominant enhancer effect on In(1)wm4h position-effect variegation due to second site enhancer. Wild type revertants can be generated by Δ2-3 P-element excision.
