      Mutant homozygotes lack all imaginal discs and die 'during pupation'. Mutant heterozygote acts as a dominant enhancer of the R7 phenotype of sina4. Antibody localises protein to apical surface of photoreceptor cells in the eye disc, as well as to contractile rings of dividing cells in embryo and imaginal discs. pupal lethal.
