Deletion of about 700bp.
In large clones in the eye many ommatidia display correct polarity though others show chirality flips or symmetry of the R4/R4 cell type. Clusters are occasionally misrotated and photoreceptor cells are occasionally missing, though this phenotype has low penetrance.
Embryos exhibit a dorsal open phenotype (dorsal closure is not initiated) and head defects. Mitotic clones in the eye exhibit wild type ommatidia.
Jra76-19/Jra[+] is a suppressor | partially of abnormal planar polarity phenotype of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, fzUAS.cAa
Jra76-19 has embryonic dorsal epidermis phenotype, suppressible by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237/tkvQ199D.UAS.Tag:HA
Jra76-19/Jra[+] is a suppressor | partially of ommatidium phenotype of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, fzUAS.cAa
Jra76-19/Jra[+] is a suppressor | partially of photoreceptor cell R4 phenotype of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, fzUAS.cAa
Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-mediated expression of tkvQ199D.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 rescues the dorsal open phenotype.
"ethyl methanesulfonate" was stated as tentative. "diepoxybutane" was stated as tentative. "γ ray" was stated as tentative.
FlyBase curator comment: The Jra1 allele, first referred to as 'jun[1]' by Kockel et al., 1997 (FBrf0095439), is NOT the same as Jra76-19, first referred to as 'Djun[1]' by Hou et al., 1997 (FBrf0095018). The Materials and Methods section of FBrf0095018 states that their 'Djun[1]' was originally named '76-19' by Bour et al, 1995 (FBrf0079902), and this is the superscript used for this allele in FlyBase.
