Animals expressing lz^GMR.PD show ectopic development of the presumptive R7 photoreceptor cells and a mild disorganisation of the ommatidia.

Flies carrying lz^GMR.PD have ectopic R7 cells in several ommatidia.

Homozygotes exhibit slight roughness of the eye.
