    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Heterozygotes do not have an apparent rough eye phenotype, but extra R7-like cells are seen in a fraction of the ommatidia. Homozygotes have a mild rough eye phenotype with multiple R7-like cells in most of the ommatidia. rlSu14/rl1 flies occasionally have extra wing vein material.

Supernumerary R7 cells and extra wing veins.

    Additional Comments
    Genetic Interactions
    Statement
    Reference

Fully suppresses the phl1 phenotype in terms of viability and the morphologies of the eye and wing veins. The posterior defects of embryos derived from homozygous fs(1)M31901 females are not suppressed if the females are also carrying one or two copies of rlSu14. Enhances the tor11D phenotype; considerable numbers of embryos laid by females heterozygous for rlSu14 and tor11D fail to hatch at 28oC.

Suppresses the morphological defects and sterility of asp1/aspDD3 mutants.
