    Description

FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.

    Detailed Description

    Reference

Asynapsis of pericentromeric regions of homologues is observed in the chromocenter of oocytes in the first meiotic division.

Heterochromatic pairing is nearly normal during meiosis. 4th chromosome pairing, as well as that of the X-FM7a pair is normal in prophase I in mutant oocytes. The chromosome configuration is completely normal. Typical nuclear polarity is evident and X and FM7a are consistently paired. At metaphase the nonexchange chromosomes mover precociously away from the plate.
