gsbprd.PX is a non-suppressor of male sterile phenotype of Df(2L)Prl/prd4
gsbprd.PX/gsb::Mmus\Pax3GsbN+Pax3C.prd is a non-suppressor of male sterile phenotype of Df(2L)Prl/prd4
Df(2L)Prl/prd4, gsbprd.PX has partially lethal phenotype
gsbprd.PX, prd4 has male sterile phenotype
Df(2L)Prl/prd4, gsbprd.PX has male sterile phenotype
gsbprd.PX is a suppressor of embryonic/first instar larval cuticle phenotype of prd4
gsbprd.PX is a non-suppressor of male accessory gland phenotype of Df(2L)Prl/prd4
gsbprd.PX, prd4 has male accessory gland phenotype
Df(2L)Prl/prd4, gsbprd.PX has male accessory gland phenotype
One copy of gsbprd.PX partially rescues the cuticle phenotype of prd4 homozygous embryos, while two copies fully rescue the phenotype. Two copies of gsbprd.PX partially rescue viability of prd4/Df(2L)Prl adults, while one copy fails to rescue prd4/Df(2L)Prl viability. Two copies of gsbprd.PX fail to rescue the fertility of prd4/Df(2L)Prl males.
The addition of gsbprd.PX to prd4/Df(2L)Prl flies produces male flies that are sterile. These males exhibit normal copulatory behaviour. The testes, the ejaculatory duct, and the ejaculatory bulb are without obvious morphological defects. In addition, a normal amount of sperm is transferred to females during copulation. However, accessory glands are completely absent in these flies.
Able to rescue the cuticular phenotype of prd4/Df(2L)Prl transheterozygous embryos and rescue them to viable adults. Adults exhibit distorted abdominal phenotype due to disorganisation of segments. One copy of each P{prd-Gsb} and P{prd-Pax3} give most efficient rescue of prd transheterozygous embryos, viable adults also show distorted abdominal phenotype.
