The activation domain of Scer\GAL4 (amino acids 768-881) is fused in frame to the ci coding region of ciZn.UAS.Tag:MYC which includes the ci initiator ATG and amino acids 440-684, (hence the zinc finger domain). Expression is governed by UASt regulatory sequences.
ciZn:AD.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Scer\GAL4; Scer\GAL4h-H10 and ciZn:AD.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Scer\GAL4; Scer\GAL4fng-B flies have normal eyes.
When expression is governed by Scer\GAL4en-e16E, adults survive with disrupted posterior wing veins, similar to that observed for ci1 and ciW.
ciZn:AD.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Scer\GAL4 rescues the embryonic segmentation defect of ciCe-1 mutants, when expressed from Scer\GAL4prd.RG1.
