RpL141 heterozygous larvae show increased apoptosis in imaginal discs.

RpL141/+ flies have shorter and thinner scutellar bristles.

RpL141 wings are significantly larger than wild-type flies. There is an increase in the level of apoptosis in the wing discs of RpL141/+ larvae.

When somatic clones expressing RpL14Scer\UAS.cMa (under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1) are made in a RpL141 background, animals have wings that are the same size as controls.

Strong to extreme Minute phenotype.

Heterozygotes exhibit a strong Minute phenotype: delayed larval development, short and thin bristles and recessive lethality.

The differences in pixL17 clone growth between the pouch and hinge are maintained, and even exaggerated, in a RpL141/+ background. Although apoptosis is similar to wild-type controls in pixL17/+ wing discs, levels are enhanced in pixL17/+, RpL141/+ double mutants.

P{lacW} insertion is within the joint promoter region between Nelf-E and RpL14 but only affects expression of RpL14. Remobilisation of the P{lacW} insertion reveals it is responsible for the mutant phenotype.
