    Description

FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.

    Statement
    Reference

No mutants survived to a stage that secretes embryonic cuticle. All have abnormalities during pre=cellular blastoderm stages that affect the normal distribution of nuclei.

Enhances the position effect variegation at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4 and enhances the position effect variegation at the bw locus caused by In(2R)bwVDe2. Does not effect position effect variegation at the bw locus caused by Byron or the position effect variegation of w seen in the P{wAR}41A insertion.
