The expression of simaUAS.cBa under the combined control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 and Gal80[ts], induced from pupal stage onward, results in viable adults displaying varying levels of thoracic pigmentation.

Expression of simaScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Toll-6-D42 leads to a significant decrease in climbing ability of adult flies.

Expression of simaScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4tey-5053A results in an increase in the number of tracheal branches that terminate on ventrolateral body wall muscle 12 compared to controls.

Ectopic expression of simaScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 results in the fully penetrant phenotype of a complete block of border cell migration. The clusters remain located at their place of original delamination from the follicle epithelium.

In the presence of Scer\GAL4Scer\UAS.cHa, some of the border cells are able to migrate when simaScer\UAS.cBa in expressed ectopically under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6. 11% of egg chambers show normal migration and 89% capable of some migration.

When simaScer\UAS.cBa is overexpressed using Scer\GAL4c522, border cell migration is disrupted in all egg chambers. Although 87% of the clusters show a noticeable delay in migration, 13% of border cell clusters fail to migrate.

Expression of simaScer\UAS.cBa in clones under the expression of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP results in a marked autonomous reduction in cell size, which correlates with smaller nuclei.
