The wing phenotype caused by expression of SerScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is suppressed by coexpression of NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS. The wing phenotype caused by expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is not suppressed by coexpression of NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS.
The addition of wgl-12.Scer\UAS restores the wing pouch and adult wing almost to wild-type in animals expressing NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1. When expression of NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS and wgScer\UAS.cGa are driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 the whole of the anterior compartment of the wing disc is covered in evenly spaced SOPs (sensory organ precursors).
The addition of Su(H)8/Su(H)2 does not affect the phenotype caused by expression of NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1. The loss of proneural precursors and sensory organ phenotypes normally seen in NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS/Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 flies is suppressed in sggM11 somatic clones.
Coexpression of NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS fails to suppress the transformation of the trichogen to a tormogen fate in the notal macrochaetae caused by DlScer\UAS.cJa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4l(3)31-1-31-1 in the presutural, anterior supraalar, anterior postalar, anterior scutellar and posterior scutellar bristles. Transformation of the trichogen to a tormogen fate in the anterior notopleural, posterior postalar and posterior dorsocentral bristles is slightly reduced in these flies.
