ya77 males have significantly reduced mating success compared to control males. The Dp(1;f)1187 minichromosome rescues the mating success of these mutants. ya77 adults show a reduction in pigmentation on the body, the wings, bristles and aristae and a partial reduction in pigmentation in the tarsal claws and sex combs. Larval mouth-part pigmentation is also reduced.
