Expression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 results in eggs with strongly ventralised chorions. Expression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a rough eye phenotype.
kek1Scer\UAS.cGa; Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 flies have a general vein loss phenotype. In kek1Scer\UAS.cGa; Scer\GAL4en-e16E flies this vein loss phenotype is restricted to the posterior compartment of the wing. kek1Scer\UAS.cGa; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies have substantially reduced numbers of photoreceptors and eye size.
When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF the eyes are rough and small.
Dorsal migration of border cells is severely inhibited when kek1Scer\UAS.cGa is expressed under the control of either Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6, with only minor effects on the initial posterior migration. Most eggs derived from these females do not hatch.
Eggs derived from females expressing kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4T155 are longer than wild-type. They show a reduction or complete loss of dorsal appendages, due to a ventralisation of the eggshell.
Overexpression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa driven by Scer\GAL471B results in loss of veins in the adult wing.

The dorsalised chorion phenotype caused by expression of Egfr::kek1KEΔCG.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 is completely suppressed by coexpression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa. The rough eye phenotype caused by expression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is suppressed if they are heterozygous for EgfrSOK1/+, EgfrSOK2/+, EgfrSOK3/+, EgfrSOK4/+ or EgfrSOK5/+. The ventralised chorion phenotype caused by expression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 is suppressed by EgfrSOK3/+ or EgfrSOK4/+ and to a lesser extent by EgfrSOK5/+.
The ventralised phenotype of eggs derived from females expressing kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4T155 is not altered if the females are also coexpressing rhoScer\UAS.cGa. The ventralised phenotype of eggs derived from females expressing kek1Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4T155 is overridden if the females are also coexpressing btl::EgfrScer\UAS.T:λ\cI-DD or phlScer\UAS.F179; the resulting eggs are dorsalised.
The addition of vnScer\UAS.cSa to flies expressing kek1Scer\UAS.cGa driven by Scer\GAL471B results in an additive phenotype, with both vein loss and ectopic vein material seen.
