Overexpression of GluRIIBScer\UAS.cDa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW does not result in significant alterations of the morphological development of larval stage larval stage neuromuscular junctions compared with controls.
The quantal size at the neuromuscular junction is larger in Df(2L)SP22 larvae rescued with GluRIIAScer\UAS.cPa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B than in Df(2L)SP22 larvae rescued with GluRIIBScer\UAS.cDa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B. There is a significant reduction in the quantal size at the neuromuscular junction in larvae expressing GluRIIBScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B or Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW compared to wild type.
GluRIIBUAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW has abnormal neuroanatomy phenotype, suppressible by GluRIIAUAS.cPa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW
GluRIIBUAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW is a non-suppressor of abnormal neuroanatomy phenotype of GluRIIAUAS.cPa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW
GluRIIBUAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW has bouton phenotype, suppressible by GluRIIAUAS.cPa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW
GluRIIBUAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW is a non-suppressor of synapse phenotype of GluRIIAUAS.cPa, Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW
Overexpression of both GluRIIBScer\UAS.cDa and GluRIIAScer\UAS.cPa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW significantly suppresses the synaptic bouton addition observed in GluRIIAScer\UAS.cPa Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW animals. Simultaneous transgenic overexpression of GluRIIAScer\UAS.cPa and GluRIIBScer\UAS.cDa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW does not result in an increased synaptic accumulation of GluRIIA subunits. Neuromuscular junctions with unaltered synaptic GluRIIA levels exhibit a wild-type number of junctional boutons.
