Expression of ap^L1.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4^dpp.blk1 causes venation defects, ectopic wing margins, small outgrowths on the ventral compartment and a notch at the distal tip of the wing. Expression of ap^L1.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4^32B causes a severe ablation of wing blade tissue, however the effect is less than caused by ap^Scer\UAS.cRa when driven by the same driver.

Comments

The addition of ap^L1.Scer\UAS to ap^md544/ap^UGO35 flies show a clear but never complete rescue of the wing phenotype. In addition these flies live on average for 8 days, and although they are fertile, usually lay no more than 5 eggs.
