Expression of apL1.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes venation defects, ectopic wing margins, small outgrowths on the ventral compartment and a notch at the distal tip of the wing. Expression of apL1.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL432B causes a severe ablation of wing blade tissue, however the effect is less than caused by apScer\UAS.cRa when driven by the same driver.

The addition of apL1.Scer\UAS to apmd544/apUGO35 flies show a clear but never complete rescue of the wing phenotype. In addition these flies live on average for 8 days, and although they are fertile, usually lay no more than 5 eggs.
