The expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of either Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 or Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407 leads to a severe increase in the number of neuroblasts per third instar larval brain lobe, as compared to controls.
Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in excess mitoses in the eye disc posterior to the morphogenetic furrow. There is also a smaller increase in mitotic figures anterior to the morphogenetic furrow.
When Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 is driven by Scer\GAL4eve.eme, in some segments no eve expressing cells form and in others more eve expressing pericardial cells and no DA1 muscles form.
Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4byn-Gal4 results in embryos with hindguts that are dramatically shorter and wider than wild type. Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4455.2 does not affect hindgut elongation, but ectopic hindgut boundary cells are seen. A large portion of the hindgut shows a reversal of left-right looping.
Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4byn-Gal4 in the embryo results in the entire large intestine differentiating into boundary cells.
Wings from flies expressing Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 are distorted by extensive outgrowth that is accompanied by ectopic wing margin structures. When Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 is driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 an ectopic wing margin is formed, the proximal part of the wing is altered, and the L3 vein is wider.

Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-driven co-expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 and DlScer\UAS.cJa results in an expansion of the zone of BrdU incorporation (a marker of S phases) and an increase in the number of cell divisions. Co-expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 and DlScer\UAS.cJa gives the same degree of excess proliferation in the eye disc as expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 alone.
Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-driven expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 is unable to rescue the small size of E2frM729 eye disc clones.
