Extra nucleotide (C) inserted after position A559, resulting in a frameshift after codon L184 leading to a stop codon after residue 235.
A "C" residue is inserted after nucleotide A559 of the msk CDS. This leads to a frameshift after amino acid L186 and a stop codon after residue 238. It is reported as a C insertion at A559 leading to a frameshift after L184 and a stop codon after residue 235 but this does match the reference sequence.

Homozygotes die as late embryos or early larvae, with a normal looking cuticle.
Lethality acts in the late embryo or early larval stages. Embryos are morphologically wild type.
msk[+]/msk2 is a suppressor of visible phenotype of Scer\GAL4c684, ifm8.UAS
msk[+]/msk2 is an enhancer of wing vein L4 phenotype of rl1
msk[+]/msk2 is a suppressor of wing phenotype of Scer\GAL4c684, ifm8.UAS
The wing blistering caused by expression of ifm8.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4337Y is suppressed by msk2/+.
Selected as: a dominant suppressor of the wing blister phenotype caused by ifm8.Scer\UAS expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4c684. "msk2" and "msk3" alleles isolated in the same screen and are duplicates of the same mutation.
