Amino acid replacement: T?S.

The A2611C substitution and a 32bp insertion between nucleotides 2606 and 2607 (also found in Su(P)pr26) map towards the 3' end of the proposed Su(P) ORF.

Comment:

The T to S amino acid change is reported in the Su(P)pe strain in addition to the 32 base insertion and the A to C nucleotide change, which are also present in Su(P)pr26. A silent nucleotide substitution as well as a couple of other sequence differences outside of the Su(P) gene are also reported.

Site of A to C base change. The Su(P)pe suppressor strain is reported as having a 32 base insertion as well as a A to C base change. Both are present in the reference genome. At least one of these mutations is reported to be responsible for the difference between Su and non-Su alleles.
