Over 80% of wing discs with wounds in the posterior compartment show normal wound healing when kayC-Ala.Scer\UAS (a mutant that cannot be phosphorylated by the ERK pathway) is overexpressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E. However, statistical tests show that this is not significantly different from healing rates in the anterior compartment of the disc, where kayC-Ala.Scer\UAS is not expressed.
kayC-Ala.Scer\UAS when driven by Scer\GAL469B, produces no discernable phenotype in the thorax. When kayC-Ala.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E a loss-of-vein phenotype is seen in the wing.
