      When originally isolated, homozygous adults showed a central cleft in the protocerebral bridge. After 8 generations of outcrossing homozygous adults showed a midly penetrant phenotype of β lobe fusion in the central brain. fdlP/Df(2R)vg135 adults show fusion of the β lobes at a very high frequency. Heterozygotes have no adult central brain defect.
