Expression of CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B in Cam7/+ animals (which are normally phenotypically wild type) results in less than half the animals pupariating and some pupae have body wrinkles similar to that seen in Cam7 hemizygotes. Expression of CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B in a Cam+ background results in significant death before pupariation and the formation of abnormal pupal cases in some survivors. Expression of both CamB12Q.Scer\UAS and CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B in Cam7/Camn339 animals results in 100% larval lethality.

Comments

(with CamB12Q.Scer\UAS) Fails to rescue: Camn339 { Scer\GAL4elav.PLu } The spontaneous backward movement seen in homozygous Camn339 larvae is not rescued by expression of CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu. The spontaneous backward movement seen in homozygous Camn339 larvae is not rescued by co-expression of CamB12Q.Scer\UAS and CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu.

Expression of CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B fails to rescue the Cam7/Camn339 phenotype and these animals have more extreme muscle problems than Cam7/Camn339 animals; Cam7/Camn339 larvae expressing CamB34Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B are extremely contracted and have difficulty producing the cyclic waves of contraction/expansion for locomotion.
