Expression of DptAScer\UAS.cTa under the control of either Scer\GAL4da.PU or Scer\GAL4Act.PU significantly increases tolerance to high hyperoxia compared to controls - the flies are able to develop and eclose (with a rate of around 50% or 60%) in an environment with 90% O[[2]].
Flies expressing DptScer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 show a high level of gut epithelial cell apoptosis (this cell death is not seen in control flies). The commensal bacterial population in the intestine is altered compared to wild type in these flies.
Expression of DptScer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4c564 increases the survival of flies that have been injected with both E.coli and the fungal peptide Destruxin A.
