mir-276aRosa/mir-276aD8 flies show significantly defective naive odour avoidance responses to 4-methylcyclohexanol (1 x 10[-3] v/v) and to 3-octanol (1.5 x 10[-3] v/v), but not to benzaldehyde (0.5 x 10[-3] v/v) compared to wild-type of heterozygous controls.

mir-276aRosa/mir-276aD8 flies show a normal avoidance response to electric shock (60V).

mir-276aRosa/mir-276aA6 and mir-276aRosa/mir-276aD2.2 flies show a normal naive odour avoidance response to 4-methylcyclohexanol (1 x 10[-3] v/v).

Homozygous rosa1 mutant flies do not show any change in sensitivity to ethanol vapor compared to controls.

In memory tests, mutants perform at 96% of wild-type after a single training session, at 63% after spaced training.
