Description

Excision of both the P{lacW}br2Bab-8 and P{lacW}br23RL insertions that are present in the br23RL allele, together with the loss of the br intronic sequences located between the insertions. The first two bases (CA) at the 5' end of the upstream insertion (P{lacW}br2Bab-8) and the last two bases (TG) at the 3' end of the downstream insertion (P{lacW}br23RL) remain and are flanked on either side by the 8bp target duplication of each original insertion.

      Homozygous lethality occurs at the white prepupa stage. Puffing in polytene chromosomes occurs follows a normal course up to PS20-21 in mutant larvae. br25.4/br2Bc-1 escapers have malformed third legs and wings and sometimes have deformed heads.
