Expression of wgScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF induces cell death in the eye disc and generates a small-eye phenotype.

Overexpression of wgScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4e22c in somatic clones changes the apical cell shape. In the presumptive hinge region, overexpression results in a more striking pattern of non-cell autonomous changes in cell shapes: cells neighbouring the wgScer\UAS.cUa cells appear to organise as whorls around the former and display epithelial misfolding and apical cell shape changes.

Expression of wgScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4kni.L2 results in ectopic veins displaced away from the endogenous L2 wing vein as well as ectopic marginal bristles near the intersection of L2 with the margin.

Expression of wgScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in a dramatic expansion of the wing margin.

Clones of cells in the anterior compartment of the dorsal epidermis of the adult abdomen (in the tergite) that are expressing wgScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL in a dsunspecified background do not change the cell polarity of cells surrounding the clone.
