      A ppk null mutant background (Df(2L)ppk1Aid/Df(2L)ppk1MirB) significantly suppresses the premature intermediate surfacing transition (IST) behavior phenotype seen when Bhal\NaChBacScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9. This suppression is reversed upon co-expression of ppkScer\UAS.cAa.

      Expression of ppkScer\UAS.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 rescues the loss of intermediate surfacing transition (IST) behavior seen in Df(2L)ppk1Aid/Df(2L)ppk1MirB mutant larvae. The increase in the resulting body size is slightly, but not significantly, rescued.

      The enhanced locomotion pattern of Df(2L)A400/Df(2L)b88h49 third instar larvae (decreased number of stops or turns compared to wild-type larvae) is rescued by expression of ppkScer\UAS.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9.
