Flies carrying Trxr-1+t10 show no change in life span compared to controls under normoxic conditions.

Flies carrying Trxr-1+t10 show an increase in mean life span compared to controls under continuous exposure to 100% oxygen. Flies carrying Trxr-1+t10 show increased survival compared to control flies after exposure to 100% oxygen for 3.1 days, followed by maintenance under normoxic conditions.

Flies carrying Trxr-1+t10 show the same mean, median and maximum life span as control flies during paraquat exposure.

Flies carrying Trxr-1+t10 show an 18% decrease in mean life span and up to 25% decrease in maximum survival time under starvation conditions, relative to controls.

Trxr-1+t10 substantially prolongs survivorship of flies expressing Prx3dsRNA.Scer\UAS using Scer\GAL4da.G32 in a Prx5EY02106 background, increasing survivorship by almost 60%. Trxr-1+t10 also restores sulfhydryl levels and the GSH:GSSG ratio in these flies.

Simultaneous co-expression of Sod+t2.4, CattOa and Trxr-1+t10 suppresses the sensitivity of Ppcs1/Ppcs1 flies to 5% H[[2]]O[[2]] and 100mM dithiothreitol, and results in increased resistance to 20mM paraquat.

Simultaneous co-expression of Sod+t2.4, CattOa and Trxr-1+t10 restores survival of Ppcs1/Ppcs1 and fbl1/fbl1 larvae on medium containing 100mM cysteine to wild-type levels.

Simultaneous co-expression of Sod+t2.4, CattOa and Trxr-1+t10 does not suppress the impaired ability of Ppat-Dpck43 or Ppcs1 homozygous adults to climb in a negative geotaxis assay.

The reduced survival rate of adults after exposure of larvae to 20Gy irradiation that is seen in Ppcs1 homozygotes is not rescued by simultaneous co-expression of Sod+t2.4, CattOa and Trxr-1+t10.

Expression of both Trxr-1+t10 and Sod+t2.4 does not result in an increase in life span. Expression of both Trxr-1+t10 and CattOa does not result in an increase in life span.
