Expressing armUAS.Exel at the anterior/posterior boundary of the third instar larval wing disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1) leads to severe cell migration away from the ptc-positive domain, as well as to a significant decrease in cell division (phospho-H3) throughout the disc.

Whole eye-antennal disc clones that express armUAS.Exel under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU do not form tumors.

Expression of armScer\UAS.Exel under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in photoreceptor cell apoptosis, although there rarely some ommatidia retain some photoreceptors.
