      Germline stem cells (GSCs) in newly eclosed males expressing CycAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:SV40\nls2 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 show a high frequency of centrosome misorientation and frequently undergo mitosis with misoriented spindles (mitosis with misoriented spindles is not seen in wild-type male GSCs).

      Adult flies expressing CycAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:SV40\nls2 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 can be recovered. Expression of CycAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:SV40\nls2 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev results in ectopic S phases.

      Expression of CycAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:SV40\nls2 under the control of Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 partially rescues the cell division defects seen in CycAC8LR1 embryos; there is an increase in cell number and a reduction in cell size in the Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 expression domain.
