Reference

Flies carrying eIF-4E^{Ser251Ala.t8.9} in combination with mutant alleles show around 35% lethality. Survivors take longer to reach adulthood, and have blistered, sometimes clipped, wings. Eyes are reduced in size, mostly due to reduced size, not number, of ommatidia. Wing discs are also reduced in size, compared to controls, and the reduction is primarily caused by reduction in cell size.
