Lig411 mutants have a significantly elevated frequency of single-strand annealing repair (SSA) compared to controls in a P{wIw.FRT} hemizygous assay to study DNA double-stranded break repair when assayed at 38oC. Imperfect nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ) is significantly impaired compared to wild type under these conditions. Lig411 mutants do not show an increase in SSA frequency in the hemizygous assay when it is carried out at 32oC.

Lig411 mutants mutants have an increased SSA frequency compared to controls in a P{wIw.FRT}/P{wIw.FRT.yellow} homozygous assay to study DNA double-stranded break repair when assayed at 38oC.

The frequency of telomere-telomere attachments seen in the brains of woc251 Lig411 double mutant larvae is not significantly different from that found in woc251 single mutants.

The overall frequency of telomere attachments seen in tefuwk third instar larval neuroblasts is significantly reduced by Lig411/Lig411. Double telomere attachments drop most in frequency, while the frequency of single telomere attachments between sister chromatids is unaffected.
