    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

100% of germaria lack germline stem cells (GSCs) in the ovaries of 7 day old twinDG24102/Df(3R)Exel6198 females. The loss of GSCs occurs more slowly in the ovaries of homozygous twinDG24102 females: two-thirds of germaria lack GSCs at 3 days, almost 90% lack GSCs at 7 and 14 days, and 100% lack GSCs at 21 days.

Homozygous clonal GSCs are lost more rapidly from the germaria than control germline clones. Division in the mutant GSCs s slower than in wild type.

twinDG24102 has female germline stem cell phenotype, suppressible | partially by mei-P26fs1/mei-P26[+]

    Additional Comments
    Genetic Interactions
    Statement
    Reference

The loss of germline stem cells seen in the ovaries of homozygous twinDG24102 females is accelerated if the females are also heterozygous for either pumMsc or nos18.

The loss of germline stem cells seen in the ovaries of homozygous twinDG24102 females is strongly rescued if the females are also heterozygous for mei-P26fs1 .

    Partially rescued by
    Comments

Expression of twinScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 almost completely rescues the premature loss of germline stem cells seen in the germaria of homozygous twinDG24102 females.

Expression of twinmut.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 partially rescues the premature loss of germline stem cells seen in the germaria of homozygous twinDG24102 females.
