      dltN1 mutant eyes, generated using the Minute technique, can be significantly smaller than wild-type eyes, although this phenotype is extremely variable. BrdU incorporation is still able to occur during eye development, indicating that DNA synthesis during proliferation is not affected. dltN1 clones in the wing disc generated using the FLP/FRT technique are of a similar size to wild type, indicating normal proliferation rates.
