Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa; Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL flies a have slightly defective wing posture.
In embryos expressing Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, the pattern of the central nervous system fascicles and commissures appears normal, when visualised with BP102. Overexpression of Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa under the regulation of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 has no discernible effect on the embryonic stage central nervous system neuronal projection pattern, when visualised with Fas2.

Co-expression of Gr21aScer\UAS.cKa and Gr63aScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4Or22a.8010 in the "empty neuron" system ("Δhalo" embryos - Dp(2;2)dppd21 + Df(2L)dp-79b - in which Or22a and Or22b are deleted) confers a modest response to CO[[2]] in the ab3A olfactory receptor neuron (ORN). Additional co-expression of Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa dramatically increases the response of the ab3A ORN to CO[[2]], to a level comparable to that of the endogenous CO[[2]] responsive neuron (ab1C).
Co-expression of Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa restores a normal response of the ab1C olfactory receptor neuron to CO[[2]] in animals expressing either Gα49BdsRNA.Scer\UAS or Gα49BdsRNA.Scer\UAS.1f1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Gr21a.9.323.
Expression of Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4Or83b.2.642.T:Hsim\VP22 rescues the reduced electroantennogram amplitude in response to odours of animals containing large Gα49B221c or Gα49B1370 homozygous clones in the antenna.
Expression of Gα49BScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4Or83b.2.642.T:Hsim\VP22 only during adulthood (expression is inhibited before this stage by expression of Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B at 18[o]C, and the animals are shifted to 29[o]C to inactivate Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B a few hours before eclosion) also rescues the reduced electroantennogram amplitude in response to odours of animals containing large Gα49B221c or Gα49B1370 homozygous clones in the antenna.
