Inactivation of a subset of Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.Hsim\VP22 cells (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.FRT.stop.UAS and Scer\FLP1335) in males has little effect on the frequency of successful matings, copulation duration or copulation latency, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS) of Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.Hsim\VP22 cells in flying adults results in small changes to odor stream avoidance and attraction, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 33[o]C) of Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.Hsim\VP22 cells in adult females significantly reduces attraction to vinegar, with no effect on avoidance of E2-hexenal or acetic acid, compared to controls.

Ablation of Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.T:Hsim\VP22-expressing neurons does not affect sensitivity to (S,Z,Z)-CH503 (a more potent stereoisomer of the gustatory sex pheromone CH503). As in wild type flies, courtship defects are seen in response to (S,Z,Z)-CH503.

Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLCTNT.UAS) of Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.Hsim\VP22 neurons in larvae results in an increase in the average distance maintained between themselves and an appetitive odor, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLCTNT.UAS) of Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.Hsim\VP22 cells does not affect the preference of larvae for larval-treated substrate, compared to controls.
