Overexpression of Cct1Ala.Scer\UAS, driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1, causes extra crossveins to form at the tip of L2 in the wing in >30% of flies.
Pcyt1Ala.UAS, Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 has crossvein | increased number phenotype, enhanceable by Egfr[+]/Egfrt1
Pcyt1Ala.UAS, Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 has crossvein | increased number phenotype, enhanceable by Egfr[+]/Egfrtop-18A
Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1/Pcyt1Ala.UAS is a suppressor of crossvein | increased number phenotype of EgfrE3
The extra crossvein wing phenotype of Cct1Ala.Scer\UAS mutants is enhanced by the removal of one copy of Egfr, showing an increasing effect with stronger alleles. Thus, expression of Cct1Ala.Scer\UAS (driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1) in Egfrtop-18A/+ flies causes wings with more extra crossveins than expression in Egfrt1/+ flies; Egfrt1 is a weak Egfr allele. EgfrE3 mutant flies in which Cct1Ala.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1, have a smaller average number of ectopic crossveins in the wing than EgfrE3 single mutants.
