      When srpNC.F.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4twi.PB supernumerary crystal cells are seen that persist during embryogenesis. Crystal cells appear at the same time as seen in wild-type and are restricted to the head region. When srpNC.F.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4twi.PB an increased number of crystal cells are seen in the lymph glands.

      Expression of both lzScer\UAS.cBa and srpNC.F.Scer\UAS when driven by Scer\GAL4twi.PB enhances the ectopic crystal cell phenotype. Expression of both lzScer\UAS.cBa and srpNC.F.Scer\UAS when driven by Scer\GAL4e33C enhances the ectopic crystal cell phenotype. The addition of srpNC.F.Scer\UAS to ushScer\UAS.cFa, Scer\GAL4twi.PB embryos enhances the loss of crystal cell phenotype seen in these animals.
