The mushroom bodies of flies expressing LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 show axonal growth defects at the lobe region but not the peduncle. Scer\GAL4ey-OK107>PakScer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B expressing clones display strong ectopic F-actin at the α/β branching point, as well as toward the distal region of the medial axons.

Animals overexpressing LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4SG18.1 have antennal lobes that are elongated dorsally compared to wild-type animals. The structures of many glomeruli within the LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-overexpressing lobes are disrupted; although the lateral glomeruli (VA1d and DA4) maintain a wild-type position, medially-located glomeruli (VA6 and DM6) can only sometimes be identified.

Scer\GAL4SG18.1>LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC animals show globose structures at the midline of the antennal commissure, a region that only contains axons in wild-type animals. These structures are ectopic glomeruli as evidenced by innervation of the midline by dorsomedial dendrites and extension of dorsomedial arbors to the midline.

Coexpression of tsrS3A.cA.Scer\UAS and LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4SG18.1, suppresses the disruption of glomerular structures and presence of ectopic glomeruli at the midline, seen when LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed alone, in 83% of antennal lobes. However, coexpression of tsrScer\UAS.cAa does not suppress the Scer\GAL4SG18.1>LIMK1kd.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC phenotype.
