Description

The nos promoter and 5' UTR is fused upstream of an internally deleted form of tud (lacking sequences encoding amino acids 301-1544) and the fs(1)K10 3' UTR. The tud sequence is tagged at the N-terminal end with Tag:HA.

Comments

tudΔ3.nos.T:Ivir\HA1 partially rescues the abdominal defects seen in embryos derived from tud1/Df(2R)PurP133a females; approximately 80% of the rescued embryos have 8 wild-type abdominal segments.

tudΔ3.nos.T:Ivir\HA1 rescues germ cell formation in embryos derived from tud1 females; at the blastoderm stage almost all the rescued embryos have some germ cells, while only 40% have germ cells at stage 11. The average number of germ cells in these embryos is 3.3 germ cells/embryo.
