      Expression of MP1Scer\UAS.P\T.T:ea under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS does not result in significant tracheal melanisation or larval lethality.

      Larvae expressing MP1Scer\UAS.P\T.T:ea under the control of Scer\GAL4Act develop more slowly than wild-type larvae. Approximately 85% of these larvae show constitutive melanization and eventually die with melanization visible over the whole body. The remaining 15% of larvae develop to pupal and adult stages with no apparent defect.

      Most animals expressing MP1Scer\UAS.P\T.T:ea under the control of Scer\GAL4c564 are able to survive to or beyond the pupal stage, however 10% of the pupae and 30% of the adults show constitutive melanization.
