Females with homozygous germline clones do not lay eggs.

Somatic clones of Vps25Pb2931 homozygous cells form only tiny clones in the adult eye, but non-autonomously stimulate cell growth. Somatic clones in the proximal wing can induce patterned outgrowths, and clones in the leg can induce branching from the ventral side of the leg in which leg structures proximal to the outgrowth are duplicated. (Clone induction: 1 hour heat shock between 48 & 92 hours after egg laying).

The survival of Vps25Pb2931 homozygous clones in imaginal discs is rescued if the clones also 'Minute'[+] and are in a 'Minute' heterozygous animal. The resulting clones exhibit massive overgrowth.

The survival of Vps25Pb2931 homozygous clones in imaginal discs is rescued if the clones are also carry BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa and Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL but lack Scer\GAL80αTub84B.PL and are in an animal which carries Scer\GAL80αTub84B.PL. The resulting clones exhibit massive overgrowth and complete loss of epithelial integrity - the cells are rounded and adopt a loose mesenchymal arrangement. Surviving wild-type tissue also exhibits overgrowth, but keep its epithelial character - albeit distorted by overgrowth. In the eye, cells in these clones lack normal signs of neuronal differentiation. When these 'tumorous' discs are transplanted into the abdomen of an adult female, tumorous tissue was found in other parts of the animal in some cases (2/16) after 5 days. These metastases were not found in control females into which wild-type discs had been implanted.
