Expression of Ald^GD17138 under the control of either Scer\GAL4^repo-M1B or Scer\GAL4^elav-C155 results in severely reduced lifespan at 25[o]C, with 50% survival at 8 and 12 days respectively (compared to approximately 60 days in controls).

Expression of Ald^GD17138 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav-C155 does not result in any overt neuropathological defect.

Flies expressing Ald^GD17138 under the control of Scer\GAL4^repo-M1B show vacuolisation in the central brain and optic lobes.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^Mef2.PR can result in flightless flies or early larval lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^Mef2.PR results in split larval body wall muscles.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^Mef2.PR results in wild-type sarcomeres in the larval body wall muscles.
