Expression of Atg12^GD15230 under the control of Scer\GAL4^{Myo31DF-NP0001} results in significantly delayed midgut degradation after pupariation, with increased size of the midgut and gastric caeca 0 hrs and 4 hrs after puparium formation, but no significant difference in autophagy levels 2 hrs after puparium formation, as compared to controls.

Expression of Atg12^GD15230 under the control of Scer\GAL4^cg.PU results in a decrease in starvation-induced autophagy in the larval fat body, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing Atg12^GD15230 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
