      Expressing ELOVLGD16713 under the control of either Scer\GAL4sim.P3.7 or Scer\GAL4elav.PLu results in holes in the retina and the loss of pigment cells. On the contrary, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4repo has no effect on retinal morphology.

      Leaky expression of ELOVLGD16713 in the absence of a GAL4 driver is sufficient to cause death.
