UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adults expressing GstO1GD11995 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU, Scer\GAL4elav.PU, or Scer\GAL4Ddc.PUx are significantly less resistant to ethanol sedation than controls: individuals stop climbing and succumb to sedation (loss of postural control) sooner than controls. A more modest defect is also observed upon Scer\GAL4ple.PU-driven expression.
Adults expressing GstO1GD11995 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
