UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The expression of flzGD1886 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR leads to increased resistance to starvation in adults. Third instar larvae exhibit decreased terminal tracheal cell length and fewer tracheal branches per cell; unlike controls, third instar larvae do not burrow/tunnel when the food source exhausts.
The expression of flzGD1886 under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PU results in very fragile larvae, with severely affected tracheal system i.e. all terminal branching are either absent or highly affected; unlike controls, third instar larvae do not burrow/tunnel when the food source exhausts.
Adults expressing CG8213GD1886 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR, flzGD1886 has decreased body size | adult stage phenotype, non-suppressible by Ilp2UAS.cUa, Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR
