UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adult flies expressing CycJGD6936 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3084 (together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression) display normal midgut epithelium thinning upon infection with Serratia marcescens but in contrast to wild-type the epithelium fails to recover and the flies have reduced infection survival rate. However, in mosaic midguts bearing Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397-induced flip-out clones expressing CycJGD6936 under the Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP driver, the knockdown enterocytes recover as well as the wild-type enterocytes in the same gut.
Adults expressing CycJGD6936 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
